Phil-Tone Mouthpiece - Theo Wanne Mosaic tenor sax
Design inspired by Dexter Gordon's hard bop and the sounds of Steve Grossman. The opening is 7* (.105)
The Mosaic was the second piece made through the collaborative efforts of Phil and Theo, whose combined experience in mouthpieces exceeds three decades.
Its textures and tone complexity lend themselves to everything from sensual ballads to hard bop. It's a big chamber piece with a baffle that will take all the air you can give it. It's the key piece to a huge sound that's personal, versatile and expressive.
Phil and Theo have been working together for about five years. Together, they have designed and created multiple world-class metal mouthpieces. The parts are manufactured in Theo's shop to the highest standards. Phil then undertakes the adjustments and testing of each piece before it is completed and sent to the market.
