Wood Stone Ishimori Soprano Saxophone ligature
For Hard rubber mouthpieces
Handcrafted with the utmost care in Japan, Wood Stone ligatures allow for the ultimate in resonance. Perfect balance of contemporary design with the quality of manufacture of the great vintage makers of the past. High quality materials and cutting edge design. A piece of art by master Ishimori, simply a small piece of functional jewellery that makes a difference in its acoustic quality.
The materials and their finishes affect the sound with the following characteristics:
Unlacquered Copper: focused and warm sound
Gold-plated Brass: powerful sound and rich in frequencies
Unlacquered Solid silver: very rich sound in frequencies and warm
The variations "Standard" and "Proto Design" correspond to 2 slightly different designs in the shape of the ligature.
Leading American saxophonist Bob Mintzer says: "The Wood Stone ligature is a simply designed ligature that gives the player optimal reed vibration and a warm, full sound. It holds the reed securely on the mouthpiece and does not restrict the sound in the slightest".
