Today is Charles Mingus Birthday. He would be a 100 years old. April 22 2022. He was my greatest influence and one of the greatest band leaders. I played Tenor at the time and George Adams just "blue" me away. Mingus was known for his workshops. I would go to the Village gate in Manhattan New York and see him at the Village gate with George Adams when they put out two albums; Changes one and Change’s two. It was his favorite club; this is where guys would relax and really play. So, listen.......listen to his tunes. he was an "Eulipion". He was a spiritual man. We celebrate Saint Jodi this weekend April 23, Joel Jeffrey
