Vintage Berg Larsen 110/2 SMS Offset tenor saxophone mouthpiece from the golden era of production (1960s–70s).
This is a classic SMS series model with Offset production characteristics, representing Berg Larsen’s highly regarded vintage metal mouthpieces.
This piece is completely original and has never been refaced.
Berg Larsen mouthpieces from this period are known for their metal construction, internal baffle design and facing characteristics, delivering a strong, focused and highly projecting sound with excellent core and clarity throughout the range.
The 110/2 configuration combines a relatively open tip with a medium chamber (2 on Berg Larsen’s scale). This provides a balanced, centered response with versatility and stability rather than an inherently bright or dark character.
Condition shows normal vintage cosmetic wear consistent with age, but it remains in good playing condition. Table, tip and rails are solid with no playability issues.
Opening measures approximately 0.100" (2.54 mm).
This type of mouthpiece has been used in professional setups, including Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophones, reinforcing its reputation as a serious performance piece.
Includes:
- Original Berg Larsen ligature
- Original cap
- Berg Larsen box (alto version, not original tenor packaging)
A strong example of a vintage Berg Larsen SMS Offset: powerful, stable, highly responsive, and both player-ready and collector-worthy.
