Description

New model in copper of Forestone's RX series, with several innovations to highlight:

Soldered "rolled tone holes", providing a centered and flexible sound. The fact that they are soldered facilitates the adjustment of the pads because they are a flatter surface and they are also repairable, not like the stretched tone holes.

Saxophones are made of top quality RED BRASS, with a 93% specific alloy of copper. Very sweet timbre that this material produces in the resonance of the instrument.

FVCT cryogenic treatment (twice) on the body, elbow, bell and neck to obtain more power than ever! This process consists of subjecting the instrument to a treatment of 196 degrees below zero by immersing it in liquid nitrogen, thus reinforcing and unifying its molecular structure as was done in the past with the "tempering" of the metal, which could be done by red-hot heating or by hitting it with a hammer. This hardening result, whether by thermal or mechanical action, achieves a much more striking and penetrating sound.

Worked until the exhaustion the ergonomics of its keyboard, becoming the most comfortable saxophone to play in the market. Adjustable right thumb support and blue steel springs for better response.

The pads are Pisoni Pro Pads with metal resonators, placed and adjusted with great precision by the master Atsushi Watanabe, who is in charge of the assembly of all Forestone instruments of the RX series.

Authentic mother-of-pearl on the keys and beautifully hand-engraved on the body and the neck of the saxophone.

About Forestone

Forestone, a young and dynamic company which wants to connect musicians worldwide becoming the open minded borderless future of woodwind in a still too conservative surrounding. Founded in late 2007 with a group of people anxious to develop a better reed and release players from all known problems with cane and bad sound plastic reeds.

Forestone discovered a new material formula - half bamboo and half PP which was the perfect combination of wooden sound while being perfectly consistent when manufactured by injection molding. In 2010 all preparations for Forestone Reeds were done and company founder Lars Heuseler started to be set up in most countries around the world taking over a leading position among synthetic and cane reed brands with a line-up for all single reed instruments from Clarinet to Saxophone for classic players and jazz players.

In 2012 Forestone joined hands with Japanese instrument builders who mentioned to be looking for new challenges. Their decades of experience enabled them to create a Saxophone using Japanese technology, like Cryogenic process never used before in saxophone industry,  combined with the experience of repairing almost every saxophone brand ever being produced.

As a result, Forestone is building today the finest Japanese saxophones and taking responsibility for every single horn. World demanded saxophone players fall in love with Forestone: Nacho Gascón, Xose Miguelez, Pepe Burgos, Diogo Pinheiro or Anja Nedremo just to name a few!
