Description

Selmer Mark VI 105xxx Tenor Sax

Impressive vintage tenor saxophone Mark VI model from Selmer with serial number 105xxx; assembled in France in 1963, the last year of manufacture of the mythical tube "Selmer 5 digits" with which so many mythical recordings of the best jazzmen in history have arrived to our memories. Having organologically the same design of a Selmer Mark VI "5 digits" makes this instrument a very interesting option to consider without paying the price of a more high priced serial number as it could be a 80xxx or a 90xxx. This tenor saxophone's neck is in good condition and the pads shape is ready for a long concerts career. The original lacquer that the passing of the years and its long performance life has made it largely lacking, facilitating a smoky and dark sound.

About Selmer

The name of SELMER is synonymous of quality and innovation in the service of tradition.

Since the launch of the Model 22 in December 1921, each new model, from the Cigar Cutter to the Mark VI, via the Super Action and the Balanced Action, the House of Henri SELMER in Paris has highlighted the innovative strengthness.

The contributions of the greatest names in jazz and classical and contemporary saxophone, from John Coltrane and Marcel Mule to Kenny Garrett and Claude Delangle, have gradually enriched the SELMER saxophone, with a sound that has become THE reference throughout the world.
