"The NY USA mouthpieces retained the side rails of the earlier Meyer Bross model, deeply rounded on the inside but the chamber was made a little smaller to produce a more pleasing resonance but with less body. Nevertheless, many saxophonists prefer this type of 60's timbre. The baffle ends almost at the tip of the mouthpiece, leaving this rail very thin. This also influences the slightly brighter sound. The finishing work on the baffle of these mouthpieces is impeccable, it is clear that they were really masters who did it. This fine finish work is part of the reason why these mouthpieces are so sought after and sound so good".
