What is special about the original Cebulla Sax-Strap?
The Neck Area
Major nerves and the blood supply for the brain run through the cervical vertebrae. With the Cebulla Sax-Strap this area of the neck remains open while the weight and pressure are distributed to the muscles of the left and right sides of the neck.
The neck area remains free and the weight is distributed to the left and right muscules.
When the fit of a strap is too long, one can pull the length adjuster upwards thereby shortening the strap. Unfortunately, doing this creates unpleasant pressure on the right and left sides of the neck, compromising the carotid arteries.
The Original Cebulla Sax-Strap is available in 4 different lengths. Once you have chosen the size that is correct for you, the length adjuster will be fully down and the strap will not affect the carotid artery.
When the length adjuster is lowered at the right length, the carotid artery is not compromised.
All straps are manufactured and tested, 100% handmade from start to finish, by Johann Cebulla himself. Each strap is unique and therefore may not look exactly like, nor be the same length on you, as the straps shown in the photographs. Small variations are part of the nature of the straps.
Because leather is a natural product, it is not always perfect and it will carry the marks of authenticity. Unique and individual markings may appear on a hide and should not be considered as defects. Instead, they give leather a unique identity, which enhances its natural beauty and characteristics. Some of those are scars, neck wrinkles, veins. fire brand, insect bites and scratches.
How do I measure for my strap?
Measure your current strap in the same position you would use while playing your instrument. Now, lay the strap in this position along side a tape-measure and measure the strap from the top edge of the leather part to the end of the hook. Compare your measurement with the list below to find your length-group quickly and easily: // S // M // L //
For example: Your length in the playing position is about 56 cm, it means that you find your strap, if you look at the M medium group
S short = 52 cm
SM short-medium = 52 cm
M medium = 57 cm
L long = 62 cm
The original Cebulla Sax-Strap has a 16-strand braided cord, which allows very fine and smooth adjustment / setting of the length. In combination with the new length adjuster, the selected cord setting remains in place. In the relaxed position, without weight on the cord, the adjuster can easily and quickly be reset.
There are two length adjusters to choose from:
- The NEW ALUMINIUM (standard) length ADJUSTER is made of light metal with a thin plastic coating. Using a special drill the holes are bored and completely rounded without an inner edge. This allows very accurate movements along the cord.
- The New EXTRA WIDE ADJUSTER is a 6-hole length adjuster which do not affect the carotid artery whether the adjuster is fully up or down. The feeling is much better in front of the neck. The material is a very strong industrial plastic.
There are two different styles of hooks:
-The plastic reinforced closed black clasp is rated in tests to hold up to 50 kg.
-The brass metal closed clasp. Please mind that it can rub the ring on your instrument.
